Westchester EMS provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports, paramedic fly-car services, EMT staffing, and event standby services anywhere in Westchester County.

EMERGENCY responses:

Westchester EMS (WEMS) has advanced and basic life support ambulances available to respond for emergencies anywhere in Westchester County.  WEMS regularly responds to nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctors offices, correctional facilities and other locations.  WEMS also responds to many areas as part of the county mutual aid plan alongside our volunteer EMS partners.  To request an ambulance, please call 914-248-5781.


Non-emergency transports:

Westchester EMS (WEMS) provides non-emergency transport services for many hospitals in Westchester County.  WEMS also regularly transports patients from Westchester to hospitals in New York City, all over the tri-state area, and even long distance to other states.  To request an ambulance, please call 914-248-5781.


Standbys:

Westchester EMS (WEMS) is availabe to provide standby ambulances for events.  WEMS stands by at sporting events, concerts, graduations, horse shows, and many other events.  To request hourly rates and availability, please call Edie McGuire at 914-244-0440 or email edith.mcguire@wemsny.org

FLY CAR SERVICES

 

45 Medic Area

WEMS has provided paramedic fly-cars to the 45 Medic area since 2000.  This area includes the Towns of Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, New Castle, North Castle, North Salem, Pound Ridge and Somers.  The medics respond alongside 10 volunteer EMS agencies.  The coverage area is 200 square miles with a population of about 100,000 people.  In 2017, the medics responded to over 6000 calls.

37 Medic Area

WEMS has provided paramedic fly-cars to the 37 Medic area since 2016.  The area includes all of the Town of Mount Pleasant including the Villages of Pleasantville and Sleepy Hollow, and part of the Village of Briarcliff Manor; also part of the Town of North Castle in the North White Plains fire district.  The medics respond alongside 6 volunteer EMS agencies.  The coverage area is 35 square miles with a population of about 46,000 people.  In 2017, the medics responded to nearly 3000 calls.
